As you can see (sorry for the nasty pictures) My foot is still swollen and black and blue. The confusing part about this all is, the injury is in my calf!
All this waiting, leaves an impatient girl agitated. I am not a patient person by nature, I always joke that this is why I ran so fast I have no patience. And it is to an extent true.
But I have to learn how to be patient :( It seems the hardest thing I have had to do yet.And the worst part, the doctor says no cardio still. I asked nicely if I could even maybe swim or start doing something when I saw him and he just said no we need to wait a lil while longer :( That was depressing!
I did get fitted with a boot, so the good news is I can now bend my knee and take it off to shower without needing someone around to wrap me back up!
Probably for me the most frustrating part of this injury is the pain. My calf constantly throbs all day unless I take the pain medicine and keep it elevated. I hate the feeling of being on the pain medicine so I try not to take it so much. And then the whole, it is my right leg so I cannot drive. That part gets me the most down. I feel like a prisoner here in my house.
One day at a time is all I can do right now. I am just so bored.

Aww man Colleen I'm so sorry! I hope they can give you some answers on your foot soon! Hang in there!
oh boy, i'm sorry girlie! i know what you mean about being patient, i've had to learn that too. one day at a time and lots of house hunters marathons! I love you, stay strong girl. I'm thinking about you. xo
eiik that woud bug me to wonder why my foot was blue if the issue was my calf, but hey you've got that cute tattoo to show off :)
sorry about the injury!! maybe you can do some pool running?
I'm so sorry. I am also recovering from an injury from just last week. I tore ligaments in my foot/ankle from a running injury. It sucks to be this immobile, but it gets better I think. I've been swimming and am now off crutches. Hope you get better soon.
Oh my gosh! I'm a newbie runner and new follower of your blog. Reading your last few posts all I can say is OUCH! I hope it heals quickly. What's the prognosis on recovery time? But congrats to you and your most recent marathon! :)
Oh my goodness that looks sore! Hope it heals asap
I understand not wanting to take the pain meds but I hope you are elevating as much as you can. Why don't they just order another sonogram???
I am still praying for you! XOX!
I'm sorry, man. I have nothing else to say besides that. I know it sucks, but listen to your doctor!
A while ago I twisted my knee, a bunch of capillaries in the vicinity tore up and the whole joint swole to the size of a honeydew melon. It had to be punctured and be supported by a brace.
Which of course meant not much moving for the time being and therefore no sports, no driving, no moving about that much.
One thing I learnt was to indeed give it rest. If you stress the injured area during what should be recuperation, you just prolong it.
Therefore, if you ever looked for a chance to finally make it through War & Peace, this is it :)
