I cannot believe it is actually almost over.Well it is in many ways!!!!
Sorry this post comes a few days late, the week in my life has been crazy and hectic and I have gotten all of my training goals met, worked, and taken care of my personal issues but blogging obviously had to take a back seat. So I apologize!
For me the week was ok. Christmas was a bit of a challenge and at weigh in on Wednesday I was up .4 I know not a total bust but it just annoys me. So for the month of December I lost a total of 5.4 pounds. An average of 1.1 pounds a week which is the healthy way to lose weight. So in the end I cannot complain. In past years I would probably have gained at least 5.4 pounds if not more in December gobbling up all the goodies and indulgences that the holiday offers. But this year I took a stand against it all and I feel like I won.
I am 3.2 pounds away now from my lifetime weight watchers goal weight. I know I will get there, I am hoping it is in January!
I am wanting so badly to do a big 2011 recap and post some goals for 2012 and I will work on that later. BUT for now lets talk about how Back to Basics went!!!!
I want to hear how you liked it, what worked for you, and maybe even what did not!
I want to hear about it because I will be picking a winner and they will win a gift card from me and a book!!! So please write about, tweet me, face book me, email me (form is on main page of my blog) however you want! But let me know :) I will pick a winner on January 4th. This gives you a few days ;)
I hope everyone had as much fun as I did doing this challenge and tweeting about it with the hashtag #back2basics

although i didn't have any specific goals for #back2basics, the group mentality really helped keep me accountable for staying on track with basics. as always (for me), knowing that others are watching me is a big help, and i really enjoy lending a helping tweet to others who might need a little hand every now and again.
great idea!!!! whatchu got on tap for January?
I want to thank you for #back2basics! When i read your post, I thought that maybe I hadn't done so well, even though I knew I hadn't gained. But after checking my weight tracker, I lost a total of 6.6 lbs! For a crazy temptation month like December, I am very proud of myself! This was my first holiday season on WW so I was not very optimistic about doing good but I know your challenged helped me be successful!
I was so happy to join this challenge. I ended up losing 2.6 but I also realize that this was in December when I would normally see a big gain.
This challenge got me back to weight watchers and journalling all my food. It got me back into regular exercise. And it made me start drinking water again.
I feel fantastic and thank you for having this challenge through the busiest month.
I didn't really know what I wanted to accomplish with #back2basics beyond holding myself accountable for trying to "do the right thing" day to day. I can happily tell you that I got in my mileage, lowered my calorie intake by starting to track it every day and improved my daily hydration. (I always knew it was supposed to be helpful but until now had not realized HOW helpful) I have lost 11 pounds in the last month and feel so grateful that I had such an awesome group of people encouraging me along. Thank you so much for #back2basics!
I am ever grateful for #back2basics! It was exactly what I needed during a month when I normally would have given up and given in! I did have a couple of goals that were not really measurable, and some I didn't actually meet, but I think these goals took care of that: "1. Not be perfect (because that is impossible). 2. Not let my 'imperfectness' lead to just giving up all together. 3. Forgive myself if I mess up and start over ASAP." I did just that, and it worked!
I have been more active in one month than I have been in YEARS! I resisted a lot of temptations. I didn't give up. And I lost 8.8 lbs this month and reached my 10% goal!!! Thanks to you and all of the support of the #back2basics tweeters! What a great kick off before the new year even started!
