We all have it.
We all go through it on a daily basis.
It does not matter what you are going through, the degree, whatever.
For me it is all on how you execute those feelings of angst, craziness, and sometimes overwhelmed.
They have to go somewhere they need an outlet. This is what I have learned the hard way.
The old me kept it bottled up tight with a nice lid and then proceeded to keep it locked and warm in layers if fat. I lived carrying so much stress and anger that I let it weigh me down quite literally to an extent.
I am learning to let things go. I am learning that you really cannot sweat the small stuff but you can make yourself sweat and it helps those feelings subside. For the bigger issues I look forward to my long runs. Those are the times I can let it all out and it helps me not turn to food.
This is why I exercise everyday and run. Some think its not wise to workout 7 days a week and I undersand but I took a pill everyday to help me deal with anxiety attacks and depression and I must tell you the exercise is much less harmful to my body :)
So these next few days will be some of my most stressful as a mom to a toddler having surgery and student during finals weekend but I wanted to get this post out for a reference just incase old me tries any funny business ;)
How do you cope with stress?

Endorphins are a good start, venting to a friend if I can, and writing/blogging. Hugs to you and smooth sailing through the surgery/recovery for your child.
you have to do you!!
If running and workouts make you feel better and you still listen to your body...then you keep doing what works for you!!
love ya girlie!!!
Stress I am still trying to figure that one out. Just when I think I got it mastered or under control. Something gives and I go to food. It is a long journey and process for me. So I call my self A WORK IN PROGRESS. Sending prayers to your family and the little one.
for me taking a long walk by myself and writing helps me with handling my stress.. sending positive vibes your way for your daughter.. i think with handling stress you have to do what works for you.. if exercise works, then keep doing it..
I've also heard that you shouldn't work out every day and that your body needs a day or two to recoup. But you know what...if it keeps you sane and off meds and you don't over do it then I say go for it. You know yourself and your body best.
I usually talk with hubby or close feiends when I'm stressed or I internalize it. Mostly the first but sometimes the srcond. I can't wait to get back into the gym cuz that does help with stress. When I internalize I don't go to eating I go to NOT eating which is just as bad.
Even though it's usually the LAST thing I want to do - exercise. It always clears my mind, puts things in perspective, and helps me form a plan of action.
Exercise is the way I deal with stress too. I may not always take a full rest day but I do listen to my body and alternate hard and easy days or do some yoga. But I like to get some movement each day or I go stir crazy!
Old you is gone! buh bye! And whatever works best for you is what you should do. No rules! :)
thank you everyone for the well wishes Peanut made it through fine!
Exercise and blogging do help. I need to learn to talk more and let it out especially to the people close to me. Letting it out always helps!
Thanks for sharing your tips
