New Weight Watchers Points Plus Program :)

I hope you will be with us tonight for the first ever Weight Watchers chat. If you are unfamiliar with twitter, do not be shy ask me or Brittany for help :) You can just go to Twitter set up an account it is free and then join us tonight. Chatting on twitter is easy we will be using the hash tag #wwchat so each time you post you can attach this to the end of it. I like to use Tweet Chat when chatting on twitter so it keeps all the posts with the hash tag together.  So hope to chat with you tonight.

Obviously the major topic tonight will be the new Points Plus program Weight Watchers introduced to us all this week. The program focuses on eating more fruits and vegetables and it counts points with a different formula. Now many people are reluctant to change so it may take time for some but you know what? We have trusted Weight Watchers for so long and so many people have been very successful so why would you doubt them now? Our leader has been on it for 2 months and lost 16lbs. I found that impressive! I know the new plan is designed to track carbohydrates more closely and promote "cleaner eating".

For me, this plan is fitting better into my day! I gained 4 points and c'mon 49 weekly points?!? That is a lot in my opinion. I did like how we are not encouraged to use every single flex point. I use my weekly 35 so I think I may stick with that. I just love the flexibility that Weight Watchers is keeping of course and the tools they gave us are fabulous! I got a nice big book filled with tips and another book that breaks down the plan thoroughly. Also the Weight Watchers weekly had additional tips. I think the books they gave out were very helpful and I have enjoyed reading them.

At the meeting Weight Watchers was offering a limited time reduced pricing for the new line of tools to help us track and calculate the points. I bought the Points Plus calculator right away of course:

I love it! It tracks your daily points for you, sets your points allowance, and finds the points of everything you plug in. It also serves as a regular calculator too! The new program has no slider like the old one, so really you need a calculator to stay on track. Weight Watchers has been kind enough to reduce them to half off for this week to let all the members be able to afford it. So it was a well spent $6 for me.

The other tool I live by is my food scale. I toyed with the idea of buying the new one, and really was not going to... Then I realized you know what, the program has worked so well for me for so long that why should I doubt it now? So it was cheaper than the old scale I am not sure if it was reduced or not but for $30 it was well worth it to me. I love having it right there on my kitchen counter ready to tell me how many points anything is:

Have you learned about the new plan? Love it or hate it? I would love to hear from you!

Weigh in Wednesday Bye Bye the Big 80!

Lots of changes this week with the new Weight Watchers plan. I will post all about it tomorrow night before the debut of #wwchat!

I went to weigh in at a Weight Watchers meeting last night because today there was no time. Well I enjoyed learning about the new plan, I must admit I am SUPER excited! I think I will continue to go to that Tuesday night meeting. It was full of people and the leader of the meeting was incredible. She was vivacious, loud, and funny, and for those of you who attend meetings you know this is a rarity. And at the end of the meeting she did something I have not seen any leaders do in my whole 9 months. She actually posted her cell phone number for us, so anyone who needs help with the new plan or support are welcome to call her. It just touched me that she was reaching out to us on a personal level and offering to be there for support.

I got a big round of claps and cheers at weigh in this week because I am officially down 80 pounds:

It was nice to be at a full meeting and get a big applause, sometimes you forget how much it means.

I was just thankful to lose even .6lbs during the week of Thanksgiving. I did not go crazy and over eat but still it was Thanksgiving! I am proud of myself for not over doing it and for staying on track. Thinking back to last year I probably gained at least a pound or 2 over Thanksgiving and just never even cared about it. So I am grateful to this journey and how much I have changed and how much self control I have gained. And of course I have my HoHoHoes to keep me on track for the holiday challenge at the Shrinking Jeans!

Crustless pumpkin Pie

I was not celebrating Thanksgiving this year without this:

Yes my all time favorite pumpkin pie. Last year I made a gluten free crust but this year I said hey lemme skip all that fat and carbs and find a way to enjoy my favorite dessert. Well in comes crust-less pumpkin pie and saves my day! This is simple, easy, and yummy. And and of course super low in points! The recipe was passed on to me from the super fit and inspiring Angelique so thank you for sharing!!!!

1 can of pumpkin
1 can of fat free evaportated milk
2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice (i used cinnamon and nutmeg)
1/2 cup of Splenda
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

All you do is blend all ingredients together well
Pam a pie plate and pour it in
Bake it at 325 for an hour
Once it passes the clean knife test its done!

I cut it into 6 slices for 2 points a slice. You could do 8 for 1 point whatever makes you happy :)

Enjoy!
