Rest Day

So no major workout for me today it is my resting day. I am trying to do 3 days on and 1 day off so that my muscles can recoup and my arthritis can have a break.
I could however not sit back and do nothing it felt too weird! So I put my daughter in her stroller and put my roller blades on and we skated around the neighborhood for 35 minutes. It was nice and relaxing and a good way to be active and do a low impact cardio for the day.

I have been working out so much that it has become habit for me and I get angry and frustrated when I am not able to. It really has become something I look forward to each day, I know I will get at least 45 minutes to an hour or so to release the stress of the day and listen to my music.

I think it is important to make working out part of your regular routine this way you learn to love it. And remember working out does not mean spending hours in the gym. There are tons of fun athletic activities you can do each day to get some exercise in. Remember building muscle helps speed up your metabolism and increase your energy!

Weigh in Day ugh!

So yes today was the inevitable weigh in day. I honestly was a bit disappointed by the scale. I only lost .2lbs in a week. UGH I have been working so hard and I feel like it was all for nothing. I know it is not about the week to week losses but the monthly losses but still it is discouraging when you step on and do not get the results you expected!
So this week I plan to kick it up a notch with the diet, I am really going to cut out all the processed foods and snacks and stick to healthy home cooked things. I also plan to cut out any sugars I might still use and stick to Truvia and my crystal light :)
Lets see how it goes

Workout for today!

Tonight was rough I honestly did not want to work out I was so tired from work and the baby waking up at 4am!!! But now what I do when I come home is change right into my gym clothes so I feel guilted into going lol I have to shout out to my B Nik she forced me to go and keep me going!!! Thanks to her I ran 2.1 miles in 20 minutes, did 28 minutes on the elliptical and then walked for a bit and then of course ended with JM's No more trouble zones and a ISO shake

Give away time!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK so as you all may or may not know I am inspired a lot by Jillian Michael's and I do her workouts every week. I have never found any of her workouts that i did not like. I watched her TV show Losing It when it aired and I found it so inspiring that she went to peoples homes and helped them get healthier.
I just find her to be such a hard ass when yelling at people and it makes me want to work out harder. I know it sounds corny but I actually think of that mean voice in my head when I want to quit running or put the weights down and give up.
So I have decided to give away her new DVD when it comes out!!!!!!!!!!!! http://jillianmichaels.shop.sportstoday.com/Product.aspx?pc=JIAM108

This DVD looks awesome!!!! I can't wait for it to come out. It is being released officially on September 7th!! It takes the regular 30 day shred to a whole new level. So I will be pre-ordering 2 one for myself and one for one of our lucky followers!!!! All you have to do is follow this blog to be entered in to win.

Workout for Tonight!!!!

Tonight I got into the gym and began on the elliptical. I find when I do the elliptical first, I have more energy to run and make it the full 20 minutes on the treadmill. So I did 25 minutes on the elliptical.I do a reverse cross train routine, this means I pedal forward for 5 minutes and then backwards for 2 minutes so you are working muscles in your front and back. I really think this is what has helped my back side 'pop' back out if ya know what I mean lol....

Then I did 20 minutes on the treadmill. I was so excited I took a picture tonight because I finally made it 2 miles in the 20 minutes :)
It was not easy to run this much. I kept the treadmill on a speed of 5.8-6.2 and then towards the end I realized I might now make the 2 mile marker so I turned the treadmill up to 7.5 and rocked it for the last minute!!! It was so hard and I honestly wanted to quit like 3 times but I just kept pushing and pushing and I now know I can do it.

I ended the night with my usual No More Trouble Zones weight training workout. In total I worked out 70 minutes and burned a whopping 540 calories :)
I ended with some stretching and of course my ISO-100 protein shake. I think it is important to drink a protein shake when you complete a work out so that your muscles can recover. The ISO -100 is the only protein shake I have found that is fat free and carb free. This is important, a lot of people take these protein shakes that are loaded with fat and calories, thats ok if you are maintaining your weight. But in my case I do not need all that fat and calories so the ISO-100 is perfect for me. You can order it here : http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/dym/iso90.html There is only 106 calories per serving check it out!!!

weekend workouts

So apparently my phone has been acting up and I thought I was posting my workouts but I guess it was not....

This was Saturdays workout. I finally got back into the gym :) I did 40 minutes on the ellptical and then I came home and did JMs no more trouble zones and went for a 15 minute walk.

This is Sundays workout, I was at the gym and focused on only cardio today to give my muscles a rest since I worked them all week. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and 30 minutes on the treadmill on the hill routine.I was surprised that I burned as many calories when doing strictly cardio. I gotta admit I love love my Polar heart rate monitor :)
