Intense Workout Today! Elliptical and Shred it with weights!

So as I have mentioned before I am competing in the Shrinkvivor Challenge at the lovely website http://shrinkingjeans.net/ . Well the challenge this week is to log in some fitness miles. I obviously love a good challenge and today I went to the gym and really worked my buns off!

First I got on the elliptical and set it to 45 minutes timer on the cross train routine.I set up my Nutrition textbook becuase I had to read 30 more pages and I started working out and reading. I figured out why I hate the elliptical so much. I always start out so fast, I do not pace myself. By 25 minutes I was a tired sweaty mess and really had to push myself to finish. Of course I felt like a million bucks when i did finish but getting there was a battle. So I learned that next time I have to pace myself and try not to get too excited in the beginning. I never even realized I did this until today, pretty sad cuz I have been ellipticalling for 6 months now lol. So we do learn something new everyday. I ended up doing 3.17 miles on the elliptical!

After the ellitptical came the treadmill I aimed to get in 5 miles for the challenge so I set the treadmill to 2 miles. I must admit I was bored walking on the treadmill. I kicked up the pace to a light jog for almost a mile because I was tired and honestly just wanted to get my workout over with. Plus since running outside lately the treadmill seems so blah to me lol. I am sad old man winter will be here soon and I will not be able to get outside and run as much! I finished the treadmill and of course took a pic :)

After all this I was pretty tired, I cannot lie I did not want to come home and do the freaking Shred It With Weights, it is hard and well I was tired. But you know what, the challenge came into my head again. I reminded myself there were 6 other ladies in my tribe counting on me to lose weight this week so I said I gotta do it. And I got my kettle bell and set up the video on my laptop and just pushed through the whole thing. I was never happier to do the last set of snatches and then hear ok cool down time. I thought wow finally! I stetched out and then looked at my monitor for the first time in awhile and was kind of shocked at the results :
 Yes there you can see I worked my ass off for 2 minutes shy of 2 HOURS!!! I have not done that in a long time. I burned 888 calories. This is a new high record set for me of calories burned in a workout!!! And it is all thanks to that extra push that competing in the Shrinkvivor competition has given me!

That is great that you went home and did the shreads even though you didn't want to. Stay motivated!

WAY TO GO.... awesome girl! I can't wait to see what our team does tomorrow! I am gonna PUSH myself and go to YOGA tonight and sweat a few extra ounds off hopefully (and I also changed my dinner plans tonight and we are having a salad ONLY)
